Lady Steers win bi-district, advance to area playoff

ALPINE — The Lady Steers volleyball squad opened postseason play with a bi-district win over Fabens at Sul Ross State University on Tuesday. Big Spring only needed four sets to defeat the Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Steers dropped the first set 27-29, but came back to win three straight by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-11.
Posting a 28-14 record on the season, No. 17 ranked Big Spring only lost three district matches and will travel to Lubbock Coronado on Saturday to face the Dalhart Lady Wolves. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.

Defense: Carson Reibe: 14 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist, 2 aces; Clara Benavides: 18 digs, 6 kills, 1 assist, 3 aces; Kelsie Guinn: 5 blocks, 4 digs, 5 kills, 1 assist.
