Larry Bohannon

Larry Bohannon, 64, of Big Spring, died Tuesday Jan. 7, 2014, at his residence. Graveside services with Navy Honors will be noon Friday at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas.

He was born to Georgie and Everett Bohannon July 17, 1949, in Canadian, Texas. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He served in the U.S. Seventh Fleet 1st Division aboard the USS Garrett County Landing Ship Tank in the waters off the coast of the Republic of Vietnam. After serving his country he came to Big Spring and worked as custodial manager at the Veterans Administration Medical Center until retiring due to ill health.

He is survived by two step-daughters: Carol Hogg of Odessa and Tonya Krause of Big Spring; cousin Glenda Williams; sister-in-law Wanda Bohannon of California; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
