Larry James

Larry James, 59, of Big Spring, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Texas Specialty Hospital in Lubbock. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Nov. 19, 1953 to Edna and Jesse James Jr., in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a lifetime resident of the community and was a Baptist. In his younger years, he worked in the family business, S & S Wheel Alignment. He also worked in the oil field and in construction as a house painter.

On Feb. 15, 1979 he married Danya Broyles in Plainview, Texas.

Larry is survived by his wife, Danya James of Big Spring; two daughters, Angee James of Big Spring and Wanda Brown of Round Rock; his parents, Jesse and Edna James of Big Spring; two brothers, Terry James and Curtis James and wife Serena of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Cassidy Haggard, Michael McKinzie, Emmett (Jay-R) Hart, Brittney Hart, Hailey Brown and Josie Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Tyson Hart and Riley Hart.

Pallbearers are Chick Cruz, Marvin Boyles, Rocky Turner, Tracy Young, Troy Allen and Jim Nelson. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Simpson, Gary Nelson, James Headrick and W.J. McNew.
