LD (Sonny) Jackson, 70, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his residence. Masonic graveside services will be held at noon Friday, May 11, 2012, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with John Milburn officiating. Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

LD was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Big Spring and grew up there and in Lamesa. Following graduation from Flower Grove High School in 1960, he farmed until 1967. In 1967, LD moved to Seattle, Wash., where he married Marilyn Maxwell on July 2 of that same year. While living in Seattle, he started the Electrical Apprenticeship School. The couple later moved to Lubbock, Texarkana and Hillsboro. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his father, Lonnie Lee Jackson; son, Lloyd Paul Jackson; and sister, Wanda Carstensen.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Jackson of Hillsboro; mother, Louise Smith of Big Spring; daughter, Julia Grantom of Hillsboro; brother, Jimmy Mayes of Big Spring; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home, 338 Grapevine Hwy., Hurst, TX 76054.
