Lewis Melvin 'L.M.' Newby Jr.

Lewis Melvin “L.M.” Newby Jr., 62, of Colorado City died Saturday, April 21, 2012, surrounded by family. He was a native and lifelong resident of Colorado City.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Newby; daughters, Michelle Lancaster and Paige Newby; chosen son, Jason Hollaway; mother-in-law, Jimmie Tidwell of Colorado City; and three grandchildren. Also surviving L.M. is his brother, Randy Newby of San Antonio; a cousin; brothers-in-law, Mike Moore and wife Tonya of Seagraves, Texas, Steve Moore and wife Janie of Colorado City, and Kerry Tidwell and wife Laura of Coahoma; and nieces, several niece and nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law/chosen son, Chad Moore.

The family will be holding a celebration of his life all day Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Newby home.
