Library book sale coming up soon

September 14, 2013

Bookworms, beware: Nirvana is fast approaching.
Final preparations are being made for the Friends of the Library's annual book sale, which will begin Thursday at the Howard County Library.
Hardcover and paperback books in a wide range of categories ranging from science fiction to westerns to how-to publications, will be on sale. And the nicest thing is, they won't break your pocketbook, either.
Current hardcover fiction and non-fiction less than a year old will sell for $5, while older copies will cost $4. Paperbacks will cost you between 50 cents and $1, depending on size and age.
Large coffee table and art books will be priced as marked.
We could still use some more books, and we'll accept them right up to the sale,” said FotL member Joann Staulcup. “We can use almost anything people bring in — as long as it's in good condition — and we would certainly appreciate it.”
Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization which provides supplemental support to the library outside the budget furnished by Howard County.
The sale is slated for Sept. 19, 20 and 21 and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday, the sale will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
