Lifter headed to state meet

March 24, 2011

Zach Hernandez will represent Big Spring High School at this weekend's Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet.

Hernandez, a senior at BSHS, will compete in the 123-pound category of Division 2 at the meet, which will be held at the Taylor County Expo Center.

He qualified for the state meet by placing second in his weight class at the recent THSPA regional meet in Sundown. His combined lift (adding totals from the bench press, squat and deadlift) was 875 pounds.
