A local man was arrested on indecency with a child charges stemming from an alleged incident in Comanche Trail Park.
Aaron Lustfeldt, 27, of Big Spring, was awaiting arraignment this morning after being arrested on the indecency charge, said Big Spring Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Tony Everett.
The incident was alleged to have occurred Friday afternoon.
“On Friday at around 5:30 p.m., police received a complaint that a white male subject in his 20s had exposed his genitals to a 9-year-old girl while she was at a playground in The Comanche Trail Park,” Everett said. “Witnesses described a maroon van as the suspect vehicle.”
Over the course of the weekend, police and sheriff's deputies received reports of the suspect vehicle being spotted at several locations in the area, including Big Spring State Park and the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Everett said.
“The information said that the suspect was behaving strangely and may have been taking photographs of women as they went about their business,” he said.
The investigation eventually led officers Lustfeldt, Everett said.
“It was determined that he is a registered sex offender and was located when Deputy Blake Jones was doing a monthly compliance check on the suspect and found the maroon mini van at his residence,” Everett noted. “At this point in the investigation a warrant for his arrest was requested and obtained.”
Officers and deputies arrested Lustfeldt at 4:45 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
He was booked into the Howard County Detention Center on charges of indecency with a child-exposure.
