Youth Football Association sign-ups being held now
Crossroads Youth Football Association is holding sign-ups for players and cheer squads at the Big Spring Mall on Saturday, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Flag football (5-7 years), will be $85 per child; Tackle (8-9 and 10-12 years), will cost $160; and cheer (K-12 years) will be $125.

BSHS season tickets on sale now
Steer football fans can now pick up their season tickets at the Athletic Training Center. The books â€” which can be purchased Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., until Aug. 23 â€” cost $20 apiece and includes admission to all four home games, rapid access to the stadium and guaranteed seating in Section C. Country Club to host low ball tourney
The Big Spring Country Club will be hosting a two-person, low ball tournament Saturday and Sunday. The $100 entry fee (plus cart costs, private carts welcome), includes registration for tourney, Mulligans and barbeque on the course Saturday.
Field will be pre-flighted with handicaps required at entry. Number of flights dtermined by number of participants.

Comanche Trail holding City Championship tourney
Howard County residents holding a membership to the Big Spring Country Club or Comanche Trail Golf Course are invited to play in the 36-hole individual play City Championship tournament Aug. Saturday and Sunday. There will be three divisions: Mens, Senior Mens and Women. Tee Times can be made for Saturday at player convenience, while Sunday will be flighted according to Saturdayâ€™s scores.

Sports physicals due by Monday
If your son or daughter is in grade 7, 9 or 11 and plans to participate in a fall sport, completed physical examination records must be turned in by Monday. The fifth also marks the start of two-a-day practices for most fall sports in the area. Big Spring parents can contact Jim Campbell at 264-3627 for more information.
Over 80 Scramble to be held at C.C.

The Big Spring Country Club will be hosting the Over 80 Scramble â€” meaning the combined age of each two-person team must add up to 80 or more.
A shotgun start will be held each day, with the field flighted by first round score.
The $100 entry fee per player includes both rounds, Mulligans and barbeque on the course Saturday. Cart fees apply.
