Big Spring YMCA to host 3-on-3 hoops tourney

The Big Spring YMCA is hosting a Memorial Day 3-on-3 basketball tournament on May 28 at the YMCA. Signups will be held that morning from 11 a.m. until noon. Games are slated to start at 12:45. All ages and co-ed teams are welcome. Entrance fee is $8 per person. There will be three divisions: recreation, competitive and all-pro. It will be a double elimination tournament. Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place teams, with a cash prize going to the winner of the all-pro bracket. Three players per team are required, with up to four members per team allowed.

Big Spring C.C. hosts parent-child tourney

A 2-person, parent-child scramble will be held by the Big Spring Country Club June 2-3. Both days will begin with a shotgun start. Saturday's tee offs will be at 9 a.m. Sunday's is at 1 p.m. Cost per team is $100 in the open division and $50 in the trophy division. A parent may play with more than one child. The entry fee for the second team is half price. BBQ will be served on the golf course on Saturday. Prizes in the open division are golf shop certificates. To sign up call 267-5254.

YMCA Boot Camp being held in June

A four-week boot camp will be held June 4-29,Monday-Friday at the YMCA from 8-9 p.m. Body composition measurements will be taken Monday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. Health and nutrition information will be available as well as an opportunity to purchase Herbalife shakes. The cost for the boot camp is $60 for YMCA members and $120 for non-members or $5 per day each.

Howard College's Earl Diddle basketball camps to hold registrations

The 2012 Earl Diddle boys and girls basketball camp are just around the corner. The girl's Shooting and Position Camp (grades 7-12) is set for June 4-7 between the hours of 9-11 a.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. the first day; the boy's Shooting and Position Camp (grades 7-12) will be held the same days, but from 1-3 p.m. Registration will be held at 12:30; The girls and boys Little Hawk Camp (grades K-3) is scheduled for June 11-14 between the hours of 9-10:15 a.m. Registration will be from 8:30-9 a.m.; The girls Individual Skill Camp (grades 4-6) is slated for June 11-14 with registration from 10-10:30 a.m. on June 11. Hours of the camp will be from 10:30-noon. Lastly, the boys Individual Skill Camp (grades 4-6) is set for June 11-14, with registration slated for 1-1:30 p.m. on June 11. All registrations and camps will be held at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the campus of Howard College. Pre-registration is encouraged. All camps are $50 per child.

Big Spring Athletics to hold softball and baseball camps

Softball and baseball camps will be held June 4-7 from 8-11 a.m. Students in grades 3-8 are invited to participate. The cost per child will $25. The softball camp will be held at Lady Steers Field. The baseball camp will be at Steer Park. T-shirts will be sold for an additional $10. Registration is going on now. For more information contact the BSHS athletic office at 264-3662.

Big Spring Athletics to hold hoops camps

Boys and Girls basketball camps are slated to be held by Big Spring Athletics. The boys camp will take from June 4-7 at Steer Gym from 1-4 p.m. Grades 2-8 are welcome. The cost per camper is $25 with t-shirts being offered for $10. The girls camp will also be held at Steer Gym, from June 18-21 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. for grades 2-5 and from 11 a.m.until 1 p.m.for grades 6-8. Big Lake Golf Course to hold 4-lady scramble

The Big Lake Golf Course will be hosting a 4-lady select shot golf tournament on June 9. For more information call (325) 884-3200.

Rotary Club to host 3-person scramble

The Greater Big Spring Rotary Club is hosting its 4th annual golf tournament at the Big Spring Country Club June 23-24. Entry fee is $80 per player plus golf cart. Private carts are welcome. There will be a shotgun start both days. Included will be BBQ on the course Saturday. Practice rounds are available Friday. Field will be flighted by first round score. Call the pro shop at 267-5354 for information and entering teams.

BSHS volleyball camp set for July 30

A volleyball skills camp will be held July 30-August 2 at the Jr. high gym by Big Spring Athletics. The camp is open for girls in grades 3-8. Cost of the camp will be $25 per child. T-shirts will be available for $10. Campers in grades 3-6 will attend from 9-10:30 p.m. with grades 7 and 8 staying until 11:30 a.m. For more information contact the athletic office at 264-3662.
