Lucio Montemayor Vasquez, 41, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at his residence. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 26, 1970, in Colorado City, Texas, and married Dora Cervantes Sept. 27, 2010. in Big Spring.
Lucio grew up in Colorado City and graduated from Colorado City High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and served in Korea. Lucio worked at various jobs and was a master of all trades. He moved to Big Spring in 2001.
Lucio was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Vasquez of Big Spring; his daughter, Brittany Vasquez of Colorado City; two step-daughters, Shaundra Gonzales and Gladys Gonzales, both of Big Spring; his parents, Alfonso and Velia Vasquez; two sisters, Leticia Mitchell and Patricia Vasquez; three brothers, Luis Vasquez, Alfonso Vasquez Jr. and Marcos Vasquez; his maternal grandmother, Magdalena Gonzales; his paternal grandmother, Damiana Contreras; his granddaughter, Connleigh Beltran, all of Colorado City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Ben Gonzales and Ramon Contreras.
