Lucy was born March 4, 1941, in Buda, Texas, to George and Santos Narbaiz. She married Saragosa Ochoa January 18, 1963. They were planning to celebrate their upcoming 50th wedding anniversary in January 2013.
She was a hairdresser for the majority of her life until becoming disabled in 1999. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Lucy lived for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandbaby. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a fighter. She fought her heart problems with such determination until the very end, when God thought it was time for another precious angel.
She was strong in her faith and attended church every Sunday until recently, when she became ill. Lucy never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. She enjoyed the companionship of her friends at the Senior Citizen Center and most recently, volunteering at the Chalet with her sister, Lupe.
Lucy will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Saragosa Ochoa; her only child and daughter, Patsy Sanchez and son-in-law Henry Sanchez of Big Spring; two grandchildren, Amanda and Jared Sanchez of Big Spring; one great grandchild, 2-year-old Amelia Sara Islas; one sister, Lupe Barraza of Big Spring; one brother, Alfonso (Poncho) Narbaiz of Big Spring; one niece, Teresa Marlow of Big Spring; two nephews, Richard Barraza of Big Spring and George Narbaiz; and one nephew, Gilbert Narbaiz, who they raised as their son. She is also survived by numerous grand-nieces and nephews, who she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Santos Narbaiz; and one brother, Gilbert Narbaiz Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jared Sanchez, Nic Narbaiz, Cody Barraza, James Marlow, John Islas and Gilbert Narbaiz.
