Mahlaya Da’Nae Woodruff

Mahlaya Da’Nae Woodruff, 5, of Coahoma died Sunday March 31, 2014, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born Jan. 7, 2009, in Big Spring to Krystal and Curtis Woodruff. She was a pre-K student at Coahoma Elementary.

She is survived by her parents, Krystal and Curtis Woodruff of Coahoma; two brothers, Keno Woodruff of Coahoma and Gio Woodruff of Big Spring; grandparents, George Herrera and his wife Olivia of Loraine, and Vernon Ausbie of Colorado City; great-grandparents, Claudio and Louisa Lopez of Sand Springs and Carmen Herrera of Coahoma; and a number of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by one sister, KiAna Vanderbilt, her grandmother, Diane Herrera and her uncle, Anthony “Bubba” Herrera, who all died in the same accident. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Norma Jean Woodruff; and her great-grandfather, Luis Herrera.
