Man and Woman of the Year nominations due Tuesday

Nominations for Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce's Man and Woman of the Year come to a close Tuesday.
If you know someone who went out of their way to make Big Spring and Howard County a better place to be in 2010, the time to help them get some recognition is now. The application process began earlier this month.
The actual banquet is set for Feb. 3.
“Criteria and application information for Man and Woman of the Year are available at the Chamber. We will be glad to e-mail or fax that information over if you need us to. Just give us a call,” said Debbye ValVerde, Chamber executive director.
There are only a couple of guidelines in the nominations process. Nominees do not have to be chamber members but nominators do. And, political figures are not eligible for the award.
Other than that, anyone is eligible. Organizers stress that nominees should be men and women who have volunteered their effort and time to various projects, if possible, and not just one endeavor.
