Manuel C. Cervantes Jr., 61, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born Aug. 5, 1951, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Margaret Resendez on June 18, 1983, in Fort Davis, Texas. He graduated from Big Spring High School and attended Howard College. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Survivors include wife, Margaret Cervantes of Big Spring; mother, Maria Cervantes of Big Spring; son, Manuel Cervantes III of Big Spring; son, Donald Cervantes of Big Spring; daughter, Joanne Cervantes of Big Spring; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Cervantes Sr.; one brother, Manuel; one sister, Neomi Herrera; and a daughter, Catalina.
The family suggests memorials be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish Building Fund, P.O. Box 951, Big Spring, Texas 79721.
