Manuel Cervantes, 61, of Big Spring died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born Aug. 5, 1951, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Margaret Resendez on June 18, 1983, in Fort Davis, Texas.

Manuel graduated from Big Spring High School and attended Howard College. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cervantes; his mother, Maria Cervantes; two sons, Manuel Cervantes III and Donald Cervantes; one daughter, Joanne Cervantes; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of Big Spring.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Cervantes Sr.; one brother, Manuel; one sister, Neomi Herrera; and a daughter, Catalina.

The family suggests memorials be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish Building Fund, P.O. Box 951, Big Spring, Texas 79721.
