Manuel De Los Rios, 79, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Elder Eliseo Gamboa officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lamesa Cemetery in Lamesa, Texas, with Trinidad Sanchez officiating.

He was born May 18, 1933, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Esperanza and Manuel De Los Rios. He was a retired cabinet maker. He lived in Hawaii and California most of his life before moving to Lamesa. He moved from Lamesa to Big Spring 10 years ago. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.

He is survived by seven sons, Henry De Los Rios, Phillip De Los Rios, Willie De Los Rios, Manuel De Los Rios, Jr., Alex De Los Rios, Gustavo De Los Rios, all of California and Richard De Los Rios of Big Spring; and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mercedes Ortiz De Los Rios in October 1997 and 11 brothers and sisters.
