Manuel 'Maco' Vega Sr.

Manuel "Maco" Vega Sr., 76, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 19, 2013, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born July 23, 1936, in Big Spring, Texas. He married Margarita Sosa and she preceded him in death May 18, 2005.

Maco had lived in Big Spring or Odessa all of his life. He worked as a carpenter and plumber and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a Catholic.

Survivors include one son, Manuel Vega, Jr. of San Antonio; two step-daughters, Nancy Franco and Ruby Luna, both of Odessa; one sister, Irene Vega of Big Spring; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his mother, Concha Vega.
