Manuel Rojo Gonzales Sr.

Manuel Rojo Gonzales Sr., 54, of Big Spring passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his residence. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Manuel was born Dec. 25, 1958, in Big Spring, Texas, to Eufrasia and Guadalupe Gonzales. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

Manuel was a shipping clerk for the past 20 years at Blue Bell Creameries. He also worked 10 years at Western Container and also at TG&Y for five years, until it closed. He helped with the Special Olympics each year and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by four children, Monica Gonzales, Cindy Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales Jr. and fiancé Cecilia Barrera and Alonzo Gonzales, all of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Amorina Gonzales, Makiah Gonzales and Alejandro Gonzales, all of Big Spring; his mother, Eufrasia Gonzales of Big Spring; two sisters, Lupe Padron and Susie and husband Anselmo Campos, all of Big Spring; two brothers, Pry Gonzales of Big Spring and Tony and wife Mary Gonzales of Coahoma; the mother of his children, Yolanda Gonzales of Big Spring; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Gonzales; and a brother, Albert Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be Eric Aguirre, Michael Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Antonio Gonzales, Xavier Gonzales and Joshua Gonzales.
