Manuela Gamboa Galan, 78, of Big Spring died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at her residence. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born June 1, 1934, in Big Spring to Florencia and Elias Gamboa. She married Isidoro Galan on Dec. 31, 1949, in Big Spring. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

She was a homemaker, but also worked as head cashier at Webb Air Force Base cafeteria. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Isidoro T. Galan of Big Spring; one son, Isidoro Galan Jr. of Big Spring; three daughters, Irene Rodriguez and husband Charlie, Mary Lou Galan Stewart and husband T.J. and Patricia Galan Lopez Villa and husband Elias, all of Big Spring; mother, Florencia D. Gamboa of Big Spring; one brother, Elias Gamboa Jr. and wife Donna of Big Spring; four sisters, Elena Lara of San Angelo, Natalia Viera and husband Daniel of San Francisco, Calif., Yolanda Arispe and husband Jose of El Paso and Viola Rodriguez of Big Spring; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elias Gamboa Sr.; one brother, Gilbert Gamboa; a God-daughter and niece; and one grandson.
