Margaret 'Peg' Myrick Downing

Margaret "Peg" Myrick Downing passed away after a short illness in a Bedford hospital on Oct. 5, 2013, at the age of 76.

She moved to Big Spring in 1959 and spent many of her years there as director of St. Mary's Episcopal School. She worked the last 25 years with Anglican Church of America, even serving as secretary to the Bishop of the worldwide church.

She was involved in the creation of her current church parish and was looking forward to obtaining a church building of their own.

She is survived by one son, Rob McDonald; two grandchildren, Matthew McDonald and Meagan McDonald; one brother, Donal Myrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday Oct. 11 at Faith Christian Fellowship in Hurst. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Anglican Church in Hurst.
