Maria Del Carmen 'Carmelita' Nieto

Maria Del Carmen “Carmelita” Nieto, 80, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Parkview Nursing Center. Vigil service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel, with funeral services following at 2 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Oct. 6, 1932, in San Antonio to Francisca Nieto and Pedro Barerra. She moved to Big Spring more than 30 years ago from Falls City, Texas. She worked as a housekeeper and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

She is survived by her cousins, Patrico Nieto and Viola Cooper of Big Spring and their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousin, Isidro Alaniz of Tyler and several other cousins.
