Marion Morgan, 85, of Big Spring died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rick Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Marion was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Howard County and married La Nell Thompson Feb. 18, 1977, in Lovington, N.M.

Marion was a corpsman in the United States Army and held several jobs, retiring at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home as a funeral assistant.

He is survived by his wife, La Nell Morgan of Big Spring; daughter, Sherry Yezak of San Antonio; son, James Morgan and wife Barbara of Big Spring; two step-sons, Rex Moore of Big Spring, and Ricky Moore of Lincoln, MT; step-daughter, Renee Thompson-Wilson and husband Matt of Carlsbad, Calif.; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pierson Morgan; mother, Jewel Dean Morgan Snodgrass; and step-father, Earl Snodgrass.

The family suggests memorials be made to the 14th and Main Church of Chirst 1401 Main St. or Compass Hospice 602 South Main, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
