Marjorie E. "Margie" Bentley, 89, of Carrollton formerly of Stanton, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, in a Fort Worth hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the funeral home

She was born May 4, 1923, in Stanton, Texas, and graduated valedictorian from Stanton High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John Jackson Bentley.

Margie was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She worked as a switchboard operator and in the county clerk’s office in Stanton, in administrative services at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, and as a secretary to the librarian at Lubbock Christian College in Lubbock before maintaining a position at FDIC in Dallas, where she retired.

She is survived by her five children, Diane Wright, John Bentley, Jane Bowers, Elizabeth Childress and Thomas Bentley; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
