Marta Ontiveros, 75, of Big Spring died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her residence. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Toyah, Texas, to Manuela and Carmen Rey. She married Jose Primitivo (Tivo) Ontiveros on Dec. 13, 1985, in Big Spring. She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1939.

She was a member of the Guadalupanas and Cursillistas for Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved volunteering for the church during various activities. She worked for many years with Nurse’s Unlimited. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Primitivo (Tivo) Ontiveros of Big Spring; two daughters, Carmen Hernandez and Maria Rosario and husband Anthony; three sons, Manuel Ontiveros and wife Christina, Jose Ontiveros and wife Norma and Joe Lewis Prieto Sr., all of Big Spring; three sisters, Flora Ayala of Hanford, Calif., Maria Marin of Odessa and Anita Ordenez of Austin; one brother, Alfredo Rey of Grand Prairie; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Martin Ontiveros and Primitivo Ontiveros Jr.
