Martin "Bud" Norwood, 73, of Colorado City died Friday, May 3, 2013, in a Colorado City hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Ken McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the funeral home.
Bud was born Oct. 30, 1939, in Lohn, Texas, and married Sandra Gillette on July 7, 1980, in Big Spring. He was an independent insurance agent and also wound electrical motors for a living. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Norwood of Colorado City; three sons, Kerry Norwood and wife Cristy of Odessa, Shelby Norwood and wife Diane of Huron, Tenn., and Martin Norwood Jr. of Colorado City; four daughters, Elizabeth Stovall and husband Adam of Whitehouse, Vicki Golleher and husband Jason of Big Spring, Christy Brownfield and husband Kevin of Big Spring and Suree Birck and husband Kaiser of Johnson City; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Norwood and wife Margi of Stephenville; and four sisters, Mattie "Sis" Norwood, Nell Thames, Myrt Tindol and husband R.D. "Doc" and Mary Palmer and husband John, all of Big Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. and Della (King) Norwood; two sons, Kaylen Norwood and Bubba Gibson; one grandson; sister, Vivian Grantham and husband Shorty; and a brother-in-law, Henry Thames.
