Mary Ferrell

January 18, 2012

A Tribute by her children

Mary Ferrell was a gentle, compassionate lady who selflessly and continually gave of herself. She blessed others through her acts of kindness, her kind words and her baking. She spread joy to loved ones and strangers alike by caroling each Christmas season, by spending time in visitation with those in need of encouragement and cheer, and by sending cards to those who God placed on her heart. She gave with quiet enthusiasm and compassion while neither drawing attention to herself nor expecting anything in return.

Throughout the last nine years, Mom’s physical endurance was tested, but her spiritual faith remained steadfast. Despite numerous continual physical battles, including one previous battle with cancer and the raging reccurrence of cancer in the last eight months of her life, she never bemoaned her struggles or the uncertainty of her life. She loved the Lord and knew, despite all, that He was by her side every moment of every day and that He would guide her from this earthly life to her Heavenly eternity. Mom was, and will always be, the epitome of earthly courage and unwavering faithfulness.

Mary is survived by two sons: David Ferrell and his wife Maria of Hueytown, Ala., and Danny Ferrell and his wife Donna of Big Spring; three daughters: Debbie McCain and her husband Jimmie, and Denise Ferrell, all of Big Spring, and Diane Fulton and her husband Tim of Lubbock; three grandsons: Jason McCain and his wife Amanda of Commerce, Brian Ferrell of San Angelo, and Jacob McCain and his fiancée Devin Adamson of Big Spring; one granddaughter: Nicole Fulton of Allen; two sisters: Frances Michelle of Webb City, Mo., and Jeanie Hart of Joplin, Mo.; one brother: Ronnie Riddle and his wife Judy of Webb City, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law: Glenda Shaw and her husband Jay of Webb City, Mo., and Doris Donham and her husband Wayne of Carl Junction, Mo.
