Mary Jane (McClendon) Miller, 86, of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in Red Oak. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born Feb. 7, 1926, in Octavia, Okla., to Elva and William McClendon. She grew up in Big Spring but spent most of her adult life in Garland and Dallas. For more than 20 years she was an executive secretary at Larue-Moore and Schafer Oil Exploration in Dallas and was very instrumental in the company’s success. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by one nephew, Jim Phillips of North Richland Hills; four nieces, Leslie Jane Phillips of Ferris, Diane Kornegay and husband Jerry of Joshua, Linda Holmes and husband Don of Big Spring and Paula Young and husband Ron of Mustang, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Maudie McClendon of Big Spring; several great-nieces and nephews, John Marino of Odessa, Lindsey Marino of Austin, Chism Young of Norman, Okla., Royce Young and wife Keri of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Cody Young of Mustang, Okla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jerry Phillips; and one brother, J.W. “Bill” McClendon.
