Mary Mable Sneed, 94, of Big Spring, Texas passed away and was welcomed into heaven on June 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Ken Thomas and Don Allen Yoak officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Mary was born April 17, 1920 in Fife, Texas. She moved to Big Spring more than 50 years ago. She was a faithful member of the Eleventh and Birdwell Lane Church of Christ. She devoted her life to Christ and family. Mary was one of the most selfless people anyone could know. She was good and kind to anyone she came in contact with, whether family, friend or stranger.
She went back to school and received her nursing degree. She worked in various nursing homes, the state hospital, and at the Veteranâ€™s Hospital in Big Spring, Texas. She made the world a better place as she touched many lives. Mary was loved by many who will miss her greatly.
She is survived by one son, Leonard Sneed and wife Zonell of Big Spring; two daughters, Cleta Pike of Haslet, Texas and Patricia Thomas and husband Kenneth of Big Spring; and her son-in-law Denzel Yoak of Waynesville, Ohio. Survivors also include granddaughter, Eunice Elaine Bates and husband Tim of Denver, Colo. and their children, Stephanie, Colleen, and Tim; with great-great-grandchildren, Brooke, Zak, Claire and Cara; granddaughter, Amber Duton and her husband Robert Dutton, and their son Jake Ellis Dutton of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Tony Alan Pike of Midland, Texas; grandson Brent Lee Thomas and great-granddaughter Avery Rose, of Lubbock, Texas; grandson Brian Thomas and wife Keely and their son Cademon and daughter Anna Kay of Plano, Texas; grandson Don Allen Yoak and wife Kelli and their children Katelyn, Taylor Nicole and Daniel, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Jennifer Escobar and husband Moe and their daughters, Ada June and Carissa of Portland, Ore; and granddaughter Trena and son Nicholas, and grandson Thad Sneed and his children of Big Spring, Texas.
She was preceded in death by beloved daughters, Reba June Barber, and Jewell (Marlene) Yoak and son Ramond Keith Sneed; grandsons Jarrett Reaves Pike and Rocky Wayne Barber; sisters, Ethel Winslett, Lucy Lula Blair, Iva Ida (Brownie) Lee, Zelma Zemrude (who died at birth); and brothers, A.A. (Jake) Cooper, Cletus Clyde (Keet) Cooper, Earnest Earl (Mutt) Cooper, George Grant Cooper, Rex Ray Cooper and Lester Lee (Buck) Cooper.
