Mary Virginia Womack

Mary Virginia Womack, 88, of Coahoma, Texas died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Monroe Teeters officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the funeral home.
Mary was born May 3, 1925, in Colorado City, Texas and married J. P. "Pete" Womack Jan. 30, 1951, in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1993.

She served as a cafeteria supervisor for Coahoma ISD from 1958 to1988. She also volunteered at Salem Baptist Church and in the community and was recognized for 30 years of service to Big Spring State Hospital.
She is survived by one son, Rick Womack (Paula) and one daughter, Judy Mize (Jim); four step-children, Jean, Kenneth (Shirley), Bob (Lisa), and Billy Bob (Marion); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one step-son, James.
