Maxine Crane

Maxine Crane, 87, of Sand Springs, died Saturday March 22, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center in Big Spring. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born March 8, 1927, to Minnie and Willie Holmes in Booneville, Miss. She has been in Howard County for more than 50 years. She married Jesse Crane in Junction, Texas, in 1979. She worked at Cowper Clinic and Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring as a LVN.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Crane of Sand Springs; two sons, Roger Clyde Kendrex of Nebraska and Richard Eugene Kendrex of Nevada; one daughter, Elaine Berard and husband, Sully, of Louisiana; one stepson, Jesse Crane III.; and two stepdaughters. Daphne Crane of Big Spring and Katrina Painter and husband, Corde, of Brady; one sister, Willie “Pete” Holmes of Palmer; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
