McIntosh named to BSISD school board

August 26, 2011

The Rev. Kenneth McIntosh

You can toss out the “Vacancy” sign in front of the Big Spring Independent School District board room.

BSISD trustees voted unanimously during their Thursday meeting to name the Rev. Kenneth McIntosh the school district's representative from District 3.

McIntosh, a native of Tulsa, Okla., has been pastor of Big Spring's First Christian Church for the past five years. He replaces Alan Partee, who declined to seek re-election, on the school board.

The position had been vacant since the May general election.

McIntosh was selected over two other applicants — Natalie Permenter and Lucy Odom — for the position. He will serve until at least next May, when a special election will be held for the remainder of the District 3 term.
