Melba L. Soles

Melba L. Soles, 92, of Hot Springs, Ark., formally of Big Spring, Texas passed away in Hot Springs on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. James Wright, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Ackerly, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born Melba Bridwell in Coleman, Texas in 1921. She lived in Big Spring for more than 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Soles was very active in the Big Spring’s social and business community from 1945 until recently.

She is survived by her children, Sharon and Scott Carr, Col (R) Larry and Dr. Sharon Growney-Seals, Danny and Rachael Soles, and Charlotte Crooks; grandchildren, Chele and Scott Poole, Catie Seals, John Bridwell and Erin Seals, Sarah and Shawn Redford, Cody and Maggie Poole, Brandi Stephens, Christie and Louis Walz, Hayley and Riley Redford and Pandora Poole.

Mrs. Soles was preceded in death by two husbands, Bill Seals and D. H. Soles, both of Big Spring; and one grandson, Michael Stephens.
