Meriam F. Sulatan, 80, of Big Spring, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4319 Parkway, Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
Meriam was born Nov. 18, 1933 in Laguna, Philippines and married Oseas Sulatan May 10, 1960. They moved to Big Spring in 1978 when she began working as an RN for the VA Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Oseas Sulatan of Big Spring; one son, Ronel Sulatan and wife, Shirlene of Big Spring; two daughters, April Levens and husband, Eddie of Big Spring and Mimi Parks of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Moises Barberan and wife, Aida and Fred Barberan and wife, Rose all of the Philippines, and Rizal Barberan and wife, Fe of Germany; two sisters, Rebecca Yap and husband, Carlo and Eunice Pardon and husband, Dave all of the Philippines; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Isabel (Flores) Barberan; and one sister, Elsie Guadiz.

Memorials are suggested to the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Big Spring, 4319 Parkway, Big Spring, TX 79720.
