Michael Oscar Yanez, 39, of Big Spring died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.

He was born Dec. 15, 1972, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Terry Miears on July 4, 1995, in Big Spring.

Michael graduated from Big Spring High School in 1991. He loved art and poetry and was known for his tattoo artistry.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Yanez of Big Spring; two stepsons, James Brandon Ferguson and wife Lacey of California and Sgt. Christopher Ryan Ferguson and wife Shantae of Junction City, Kan.; his parents, Oscar and Mary Lou Yanez of Big Spring; three brothers, Joseph Yanez and wife Lindsay of Lubbock and Timothy Yanez and Randy Virgil Yanez, both of Big Spring; his grandparents, Luis and Erlinda Flores of Big Spring; one granddaughter; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Puente Yanez; a niece, Audrianna Yanez; and several aunts and uncles.
