Monica Rodriguez Chavez, 69, of Big Spring died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Hospice House of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
She was born May 4, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Andres Chavez on Jan. 2, 1971, in Big Spring.
A lifetime resident of Big Spring, Monica had owned the Circle of Beauty Salon and then began working at the Beauty Realm. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Survivors include her husband, Andres Chavez of Big Spring; a son, Chris Chavez of Big Spring; a daughter, Stacey Chavez of Big Spring; two sisters, Leonor Sotelo of Big Spring and Alejandra Barrios of Lenorah; and two brothers, Ray Rodriguez of El Paso and Gavino Rodriguez Jr. of Big Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eulalo Rodriguez.
