More renovations coming for city auditorium

March 15, 2014

In the next several months, the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium should complete its transformation from shuttered to sparkling.

Five years ago, the auditorium was closed to the public because of accessibility issues. Non-compliant restrooms, inadequate parking and inaccessible seating were just a few of the problems facing city officials at the time.

An initial round of renovations brought the auditorium back to life in 2012 and the Big Spring City Council Tuesday approved $1 million in further renovations to bring the building further up-to-date.
