Nancy Arlene Reed, 61, of Stanton, formerly of Big Spring died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit. Private family services will be held at a later date.
She was born July 10, 1950, in Hamlin, Texas, to Lou Dan (Branscum) Reed and Sam Houston Reed. She grew up in Big Spring. She had been a resident of Big Spring for more than 50 years. She worked for many years at Malone-Hogan Hospital and retired in 1989 from the Big Spring State Hospital after 17 years of service. She was a member of God’s Rainbow Promises in Midland, Texas.
She is survived by her life partner, Sylvia Booth of Stanton; step-children, David Booth of Alpine, Dolores Long of Stanton and Donald Booth of Temple; one brother, Sammy Reed and wife Susan and their children Scott and Robert, all of Midland; one sister, Sandy Halfmann and husband Gene and daughter Amy Claxton, all of Tulsa, Okla.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
