If young people are concerned about the future, they need to become active in helping to shape that future.
That was the message U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer hammered home to a group of students during a question-and-answer session at Howard College Thursday afternoon.
During the hour-long session, Neugebauer fielded questions ranging from the economy and jobs to legalization of marijuana.
The Republican from Lubbock told the students that many of the problems facing the United States today won't be solved quickly or without some pain and that it was imperative that young people become more involved in helping to find solutions.
“You have a huge stake in what's going on in the country right now,” he said. “If you're not voting, you're not at the table — and if you're not at the table, you won't like the outcome.”
