'Not Forgotten' ceremony planned

November 5, 2011

Never forget …
Veterans Day, also known as Remembrance Day, is Nov. 11 and Nora Hernandez is — for the fifth year — organizing a special service for those veterans buried at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
“Each year the service is different, but I do what I can so the families and the veterans know they are not forgotten.”
The service will be held Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m. and will honor veterans who are buried at Mt. Olive Cemetery. There will be the playing of Taps; 21 steps will replace the 21 gun salute; and Hernandez will deliver a special poem in recognition of her father and of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
“Even though they are gone, we want them to know we aren’t going to forget what they did,” Hernandez said.
For more information, contact Hernandez at 720-377-4265.
