Odessa (Grandmother) Boothe, 93, of Big Spring went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 1, 2013. She fought a good fight; she finished the course; she kept the faith.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4,2013, at First Baptist Church Chapel with Brother Mike Couch and Brother Randy Cotton officiating. Family visitation will be at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 3. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger at 4 p.m. Odessa was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Lovelady, Texas. She married Harmon Foster Boothe July 27, 1940. He has been patiently waiting for her at the gates of Heaven since May 10, 1987. Loved ones waiting to greet her include heir son Jimmie, three sisters and two brothers.
Odessa worked at the Southern Baptist bookstore for 10 years and was a beloved homemaker. She devoted her life to being an active mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Big Spring and the Bykota Sunday School class. She leads the way to Heaven for her children, Kenneth and Earlene Boothe and daughter-in-law, Sue Boothe. She also will be waiting for her grandchildren, Veronda and Mark Vassar, and Diane and Dwain Fox, all of Big Spring, Kerry and Jeff Carnell of Lubbock, and Dâ€™Ann and Steve Burrow of Keller; along with 14 great grandchildren, Ryan Vassar of Austin, Kristine Vassar, Heather Vassar, Shelleyn and Abel Garcia, all of Dallas, Kira and Ryan Darby, Kami Carnell, and Kenzi Carnell, all of Lubbock, Maegan and Joey Lloyd and Kolt Fox, all of Big Spring, and Madeline Burrow and Nicholas Burrow, both of Keller; two greatâ€“great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Braedyn Darby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
