Ofelia Galan, 78, of Big Spring died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at her residence. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Hays County, Texas, to Isabel and Telesforo Galan. She was a homemaker and a housekeeper. She lived most of her life in Big Spring and was a Catholic.

She is survived by two sons, Ascencion Hilario Jr. and Sammy Hilario, both of Big Spring; 12 daughters, Yolanda Fierro, Ester Calderon, Estella Hilario, Marylou Villareal, Norma Juarez, Isabel Hilario, Diana Rodriguez and JoAnn Hilario, all of Big Spring, Rosemary Guiterrez of Lovington, N.M., Sarah Scalf of Houston, Sally Correa of Amarillo and Cecilia (Tina) Hilario of Buna; one brother, Isidoro Galan of Big Spring; 45 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, Mary Martinez, Virginia Bustamante and Isabel Hilario; one son, Guadalupe Hilario; three grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
