Oleta M. Dower, 88, of Snyder, formerly of Big Spring died Thursday Aug. 22, 2013, at Snyder Oaks Nursing Center. Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Dr. Doug Shelley officiating.
She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Petrolia, Texas, to Emma and Ocie Wilson. She married Glenn Allen Dower in 1944 in LaCross, Wisc. She was a longtime resident of Big Spring, moving here in 1966. She moved to Snyder in 2008. She was a homemaker and was a member of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Brown and husband Adrian of Snyder; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Wilson of Petrolia; and two sisters, Marie Culver of Midland and Jeanene Lanto of Rantoul, Ill.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Allen Dower in 2006 and two sons, Wayne Dower in 1995 and Kenneth Dower in 2010.
