Ollie Denning

BRECKENRIDGE — Ollie Denning, 82, of Breckenridge, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 29, 2012. Ollie was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Graham, Texas, to Charlie Denning and Jessie Alice Bilby. He married JoAnn Frazier on Aug. 8, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ollie began his refinery career at Onyx Oil Refinery in Abilene, Texas, and was transferred to Cosden (Fina) Refinery in Big Spring, Texas, in 1958.

He retired from Fina Refining in 1991 and moved to Breckenridge to spend his free time fishing and traveling with his wife of 63 years, JoAnn. Being a devout Christian, Ollie was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and on several church committees.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Lakeside Baptist Church with Brother David Draper and Brother Cecil Harper officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Bryson, Texas, under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Jessie Denning; a brother, Henry Denning; and a sister, Marie Sheppard.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; one son, Charles Denning of Austin; one daughter, Alice Keel and husband Harvey of Midland; four grandchildren, Chuck Denning and wife Mindy of Austin, Amber Morris and husband Matt of Austin, Tammy Doan and husband Billy of Midland and Lesley Clinchard and husband Rob of Austin; nine great-grandchildren, Bella Denning, Hunter, Houston and Hallie Morris, Christian, Johanna and Jacob Doan and Reese and Bryce Clinchard.

Pallbearers will be Jim Wiskur, Tommy Tharp, Chasey Tharp, Billy Doan, Rob Clinchard and Hunter Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, Alpha Omega Hospice, or your favorite charity. They may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
