Oren 'Wayne' Brown

Oren “Wayne” Brown passed away June 7, 2012, at the age of 79 in Edmond Memorial Hospital.

Wayne was born Feb. 1, 1933, to O.O. “Brack” and Myrtle Brown in Jayton, Texas, and moved to Big Spring, Texas, in 1943.

He graduated from high school in 1951 then joined the Air Force. Wayne lived and coached softball in Guthrie, Edmond and Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his brother, Jeff Brown and wife Sue of Arlington, Texas;, one son, Kevin Brown and wife Elizabeth of Guthrie; two daughters, Kemala Brown of OKC and Karen Wiggins of Lewisville, Texas; three grandchildren; a nephew; niece; four great-nieces; two great-nephews; two step daughters, Jeannie Jones and Tammy Fredrickson; eight step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 35 years, Shirley June Brown; and wife of four years, Ruth Britt Brown.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., July 7, 2012, at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 11701 N. Macarthur, Oklahoma City, Okla.
