Oscar Canales Jr., 34, of Laredo and formerly of Big Spring, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Laredo. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Feb. 26, 1979, in Big Spring. He lived here until moving to Laredo 10 years ago. He was a foreman for a bridge construction company. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by his mother, Diana Canales of Laredo; father, Oscar Canales Sr. of Big Spring; four children, Nicholas and Danica Canales of Laredo, and Oscar Canales III and Reyna Canales of Big Spring; one sister, Nicole Canales of Big Spring; two brothers, Joe Albert Canales and Lupe Canales and wife Shae, all of Big Spring; maternal grandmother, Refella Padilla of Mathis; maternal grandfather, Frank Ybarra of Lubbock; and 10 nieces and nephews, all of Big Spring.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Juan Cruz Canales and paternal grandparents, Librado and Clara Canales.
