Pair arrested, jailed on drug, weapons charges

December 24, 2013

A man acting suspicously, a foot chase and questioning of a suspect culminated in two people being arrested on drug and weapons charges Sunday, according to information released Monday afternoon by the Big Spring Police Department.

In custody are Michael Roy Roberson, 31, and Comanecki “CoCo” Loper Thacker, 32.

Police said the episode began at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday when BSPD Officer Kevin Pitts spied a driver acting suspeciously in the 900 block of E. Third. Pitts also noted the vehicle had no front license plate.

“The vehicle failed to stop for Officer Pitts and a short pursuit occurred,” said Sgt. Tony Everett, BSPD public information officer. “The vehicle finally came to a stop in the 1200 block of E. Second, at which time the driver identified as Michael Roy Roberson, a white male, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short pursuit, Roberson was taken into custody.”
