Pam passed away on Aug. 28, 2013, in Denton, Texas. Pam was born on Aug. 6, 1959 in Big Spring, Texas, to Jim and Betty Jordan.
She graduated from Greenwood High School and then earned an associateâ€™s degree as an emergency medical Technician. In 1981, Pam graduated from the Permian Basin Police Academy. She served as police officer for 20 years and received numerous certifications, awards, recognitions and promotions to include city employee of the year.
Pam was most proud of being the first female assistant police chief in Big Spring, Texas, making her the highest ranking female law enforcement officer in Howard County history in 1997. She ended the career she loved and retired from the Big Spring Police Department in 2001.
After retirement, Pam obtained an associates degree in information technology from Howard College and moved to Denton Texas in 2002, where she worked for the city of Southlake in the Information Technology Department up until the time of her death. She earned the city of Southlake employee of the year award in 2005.
Pam had many interests and hobbies like fishing and camping. She loved to make things; crafting was a specialty of hers. She loved riding her motorcycle, watching movies and was an avid reader. Pam was most passionate about her family and her pets.
Pam is survived by her life partner of 18 years, Suzanne Reed; mother and stepfather, Betty and Robert Muller of Big Spring, Texas; stepmother, Gloria Jordan; sister, Pat Hoppman; brother, James and wife, Ruth Jordan; and brother, Heath Muller of Midland, Texas; and the family pets Alex, Cody, and Stormy. Pam was preceded in death by her father, Jim Jordan.
A memorial services will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the ASPCA.
