Paul ‘Pete’ Petree

Paul "Pete" Petree, 70, of Midland, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, in a Houston hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, with High Priest of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Arthur Allen, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.
He was born May 6, 1941, in Abilene. Paul "Pete" was raised on a small farm outside of Stanton and was an outstanding athlete at Stanton High School. After graduation he worked for Texas Electric for 35 years. He married Eloise Schuelke and raised his family in Midland. He spent his last years playing golf with his buddies and boating with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelli Hamilton of Midland; a son, Aaron Petree and wife Brandi of Katy; two sisters, Caryl Henderson and husband Larry, of Big Spring, and Betty Wagley of Bedais, Texas; one brother, David Petree of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Taylor Hamilton, Alyssa Hamilton, Shaylee Petree, Nick Petree, Noah Petree and Carson Petree; longtime companion, Barbara McKenzie of Midland; his best friend, John Abbott of Chandler; and more golf buddies than one can count.
