Paul Lindell

Paul Lindell, 62, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God with Charles Harrington officiating.

Paul was born Sept. 28, 1949, in Abilene, Texas, to Louise and S.C. Lindell. He received his bachelors degree from Texas Tech and had been a resident of Big Spring for 34 years, moving from Lubbock. He first taught in the Big Spring Independent School District for several years and then taught in the Forsan School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 2005. He also taught drivers education for 10 years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Linda of Big Spring; five children, Cynthia Michelle Schaffner and husband Shane of Big Spring, Lisa Mae Josey and husband Rodney of Sulpher Springs, Chris Mason and wife Tracie of St. Joseph, Mo., Alex Lindell of Austin and Cheri Kaye Barnes and husband Robin of Stanton; 13 grandchildren, Zach Angel and wife Summer, Braden Schaffner, Ambrie Schaffner, Kaci Dawn Hecker, Cameron Hancock, Kaitlyn Hancock, Taylor Josey, Caleb Mason, Luke Mason, Rachel Mason, Erin Barnes, Jaxson Lindell and Emerie Barnes; and one brother, David Lindell and wife B.J. of Dallas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Lindell.
